JAKARTA Various leaks regarding the username feature for WhatsApp have appeared a lot ahead of next year's launch. Now, more detailed details have been revealed for the first time.
In an official document distributed to business partners, according to 9to5mac, Meta will add a Business Scoped User ID (BSUID) concept to the feature. BSUID is an identification tool for usernames.
With BSUID, business accounts can still send messages to users. In fact, when the user's personal phone number is not known by a business account, sending messages can still be done.
Technically, BSUID will be linked to user_id parameters and will be included in all message webhooks. This new identifier will appear as a column in WhatsApp webhook notifications, regardless of whether the user has enabled the username feature.
