Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch 2 Edition To Release January 15, 2026

JAKARTA - Nintendo has announced that Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will launch on January 15 next year, along with a free 3.0 update for the Nintendo Switch version.

In a special edition for Nintendo Switch 2, players will be presented with a variety of significant improvements, ranging from visual 4K resolution, mouse control using right Joy-Con, to CameraPlay features that allow players to see their friends' reactions directly inside the game using a USB camera.

Not only that, other new features include megaphones in games connected to console built-in microphones, as well as online game support of up to 12 players simultaneously.

Furthermore, free updates will also come to all players, presenting a new hotel resort managed by the Kappn family, various new themed items and characters, as well as the exclusive Slumber Island feature for Nintendo Switch Online members.

Nintendo said players could help design living rooms at resorts, reorganize islands with new services from Resetti, and expand home storage to 9,000 items, including trees and flowers.

In addition to the main content, this update also brings special collaborations with a number of major franchises such as The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon, and LEGO, where players can invite certain characters or open unique themed items using amiibo.

The new Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch 2 Edition edition will sell for $64.99, while older players can buy a paid upgrade package for $4.99 at My Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop starting today.
