Komdigi Announces Winners Of The 1.4 GHz Frequency Auction Selection, Telkom Loses

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital has announced the winner of the 1.4 GHz frequency auction, between PT Telemedia Komunikasi Pratama, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, and PT Eka Mas Republik.

In an official announcement from the Directorate General of Digital Infrastructure of the Ministry of Komdigi, Surge, represented by a subsidiary, Telemedia Communication Pratama, won a 1.4 GHz frequency auction for Regional 1.

Meanwhile, Eka Mas Republik, known for its MyRepublic brand, won the battle in Region 2 and 3. Meanwhile, Telkom did not win this year's auction.

In Regional 1, Telemedia won the auction with the highest price offer of IDR 403 billion, followed by Telkom IDR 399 billion and Eka Mas Republik IDR 331 billion.

Then in Regional 2, replacing Eka Mas Republik, which is at the top with an offer of Rp. 300 billion, followed by Telkom with Rp. 259 billion and Telemedia with Rp. 136 billion.

In Regional 3, Eka Mas Republik is again ahead of its two competitors, dropping the highest offering price of IDR 100 billion, then Telkom IDR 80 billion, and Telemedia IDR 64 billion.

With the end of the spectral selection, Surge controls 80 MHz in region 1 with zone 4, zone 5, zone 6, zone 7, zone 9, and zone 10.

Meanwhile, MyRepublic controls 160 MHz in regional 2 in zone 1, zone 2, zone 3, zone 8, zone 15, then regional 3 in zone 11, zone 12, zone 13, and zone 14.

Each region has a frequency range of 1432'1512 MHz with one block 80 MHz, uses Time Division Duplexing (TDD) mode, and is valid for 10 years.
