HONOR Magic8 Series Officially Launches: Self-Evolutional AI Phone With 200MP Zoom Camera

JAKARTA - HONOR officially introduced its newest flagship series, HONOR Magic8, in China. The company calls this device the first AI smartphone to "evolution on its own", thanks to the integration of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and a new smart assistant named YOYO Agent.

Magic 8 series offers extraordinary AI capabilities. HONOR claims the YOYO Agent can automate more than 3,000 tasks starting from simple work such as delete all blurry screenshots' to complex professional tasks such as concluded expenses this week and send them to the manager via email. Everything can be done automatically, without the user's manual intervention.

In addition, HONOR also added a special AI button (AI Button) to access the YOYO Agent instantly. This button can be customized; by default, the long press will activate the YOYO Video Call, while pressing twice will open the camera.

HONOR said the Magic8 series focuses on three main pillars: hardware performance, system interactions, and application ecosystems.

The camera feature is in the main spotlight on the HONOR Magic8 Pro. This phone brings a new generation of AIMAGE camera system that is claimed to be able to provide unprecedented clarity, stability, and creative control thanks to advanced AI support.

Magic8 Pro comes with three rear cameras:

50MP main camera with 1/1.3 inches sensor, f/1.6 opening, and OIS.

200MP telephoto periscope cameras with sensors 1/1.4 inches, f/2.6, as well as 3.7x and OIS optical zoom.

50MP ultrawide camera with an opening f/2.0 and a 122 degree point of view, which also functions for macro photos.

On the front, there is a 50MP camera with a 3D depth sensor for more accurate facial scanning.

Magic8 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, combined with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The 6.71-inch LTPO OLED 120Hz screen with a resolution of 2808 x 1256 pixels is able to reach extreme brightness of up to 6,000 nits.

Regarding durability, the Chinese version carries a giant battery of 7,100mAh, while the European version is slightly smaller at 6,270mAh. Both support cable 100W fast charging and 80W wireless through SuperCharge HONOR technology.

This device has also been certified IP68/IP69/IP69K, making it resistant to water and dust at the highest industrial level. The Magic8 Pro dimension is 161.15 x 75 x 8.4 mm weighing 213 grams, available in Black, Sky Cyan, and Sunrise Gold.

In addition to AI on systems and cameras, HONOR also introduces Magic Color, the industry's first AI-based color engine developed to produce the most natural color reproduction in a variety of light conditions.

The two Magic 8 models run Android 16 with the MagicOS 10 interface, promising a truly integrated AI experience across the system.

The global launch of the HONOR Magic 8 series is said to be following in the near future, bringing HONOR's ambition to become a major player in the new generation of AI smartphones era.
