Researchers Predict Universe Day, This Is The World's Time

Researchers believe that the universe will collapse in the future because of its own gravity. This is very likely to happen if researchers' findings regarding the evolution of dark energy are true.

According to the latest dark energy calculation model, launching from Science Alert, the universe only has 33.3 billion years of age. Currently, the world is believed to have turned 13.8 billion years after the Big Bang incident occurred.

That way, the universe is expected to last for another 20 billion years. The results of the research calculations show that the universe will expand for the next 11 billion years. After that, the expansion will stop.

This process will turn around and lead to the hypothetical Big Crunch. The Big Crunch event is the opposite of the Big Bang, where all matter in the universe will press back into an infinite single singularity.

Physicist Henry Tye of Cornell University, who is one of the researchers, explained about these findings. Tye explained that the new data seems to suggest that the cosmological constant (men) is negative.

This cosmological constant was introduced by Albert Einstein to explain about the expansion of the universe. If the value of \lambda is positive, it serves as a thrust force that causes a sustainable expansion.

On the other hand, if \lambda is of negative value, this will act as a constant attraction. This attraction will ultimately stop and reverse the direction of the universe's expansion.

This new model combines a small negative \lambda with an ultra-light axiom field that acts as the present dark energy. This axiom is a very light particle which is believed to provide a soft push outward on the universe at the beginning.

Currently, the influence of axioms still dominates, causing the universe to continue to accelerate expansion. However, within about 11 billion years, the axiom push will weaken significantly.

At that point, the negative drag from \lambda will take over, stopping the expansion at a maximum size of about 1.7 times the current size. After stopping, the universe will lead to the Big Crunch process within 8 billion years.
