JAKARTA Like other social media, platform X also provides the ability to change the username or account name. This process can be done anywhere, either through a browser or application.

Change Username Via Browser

If you are used to accessing X, or previously known as Twitter, via a browser, you only need to open the website X.com as usual. After that, click on the Other icon in the form of a three-dot in the sidebar section.

When various menus appear, select the Settings and Privacy options to continue. Next, select your Account, then tap Account Information. You will be asked to enter a password to confirm it. After that, click the Username in the Account Information section.

On an open page, input the desired new username. X will notify if the name has been used and will provide other username suggestions.

Change Username Via Mobile App

If you want to change the username through the app, the procedure is slightly different. Open the X app on your phone, log in to the account you want to change the username, then tap the profile picture in the upper left corner of the screen.

After that, select Settings and Support, then tap Settings and Privacy. Then, select the Account section, search for the Account Information menu, tap the User Name option. Next, type a new username in the column provided.

If the name is unique and has not been used, a green tick will appear. Finally, tap Done to save the change. The username will only activate immediately after the page is closed.
