JAKARTA Google Messages launched a new security feature called Sensitive Content Warning. This feature is designed to detect and obscure images containing elements of nudity.

This feature will work if the user has entered the Google Account in the Messages app. Although it can read and identify images in the chat room, all image processing and classification are carried out directly on the user's device.

That way, all users' personal data will remain safe and their personal data will not be sent to Google servers. Meanwhile, thanks to this feature, users will receive the option when sensitive images appear in incoming messages.

Users can learn the risk of the content or block the sender number. In addition, you also have the option to view an image or cancel the action against the image to be blurred.

This warning not only appears when the user gets a nudity image, but will also appear when the user sends or forwards a nude image. Users will be asked to reconfirm before sending them.

For adult users over 18 years of age, this feature will be disabled by default. Users can enable it via the Settings menu in Google Messages by entering the Protection and Safety section, then Managing sensitive content warnings.

However, for users who are monitored, this feature cannot be turned off. Parents can control this settings through the Family Link application. Meanwhile, unsupervised teens aged 13 to 17 years can disable this feature in their Google Account settings.
