JAKARTA Google plans to increase its nominal investment for the next two years. They will spend up to 9 billion US dollars (Rp144 trillion) for development in Oklahoma.
The technology company will expand its cloud infrastructure and Artificial Intelligence (AI). As part of the investment, Google will build a new data center campus in Stillwater and expand existing facilities in Pryor.
This step was taken to strengthen Google's AI and cloud capacities in the United States. Currently, demand for AI services is getting bigger so big tech companies are racing to build new data centers.
Google is one of the companies. When revealing this plan, Google stated that part of its investment funds were included in the 2025 capital expenditure plan that had been previously announced.
The remaining capital expenditure funds will be allocated to other programs in the near future. It should be noted that Alphabet's capital expenditure plan, Google's parent company, has increased to meet AI needs.
The company also plans to add another capital expenditure for next year. Although the funds they spend are huge, Alphabet including Google believes that this action is able to put their AI model at the forefront.
Google is also committed to investing $1 billion in AI education and training for higher education institutions. To date, more than 100 universities have signed up for Google's educational initiatives.
