OpenAI Brings Back GPT-4o After User Criticism

JAKARTA When the GPT-5 is launched, OpenAI makes big changes by getting rid of the previous model. Usually, OpenAI always maintains its old model so that users have a choice.

However, this change sparked protests from many users. Not a few ChatGPT users have complained about the loss of the old model, including the GPT-4o from the app. Due to this complaint, OpenAI finally added a GPT-4o again.

The return of the GPT-4o model was carried out after several users complained about the declining quality of GPT-5 writing. Merea also expressed sadness over the disappearance of GPT-4o on various social media, including X.

For the various complaints that emerged, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that they would implement a slight change. One of them is to double the GPT-5 speed limit for ChatGPT Plus users.

This increase will be launched after the GPT-5 expansion is complete. In addition, the GPT-4o will be presented again, but only limited for users who subscribe.

"We will let Plus users choose to continue using 4o. We will monitor usage while considering how long the old model will be on offer," Altman said, quoted on Monday, August 11.

To guarantee future improvements, Altman emphasized that GPT-5 will be made smarter than before. OpenAI will change the appearance of the ChtGPT interface so that manual thinking can be triggered easily.

"Yesterday, the autoswitcher was damaged and didn't work for most of the day, and the result was that the GPT-5 looked much more stupid," said Altman. "GPT-5 will look smarter from today."
