OnePlus 15 Will Come With A Long Square Camera Design, Violating Traditions

JAKARTA - OnePlus 15 is rumored to be carrying a new camera design, leaving a circular design that has been its trademark for the sake of a rectangular design. This step is not too surprising given that a similar design has been applied to OnePlus 13T aka OnePlus 13s.

OnePlus 15 is expected to launch later this year with significant changes to the back. This information comes from the Digital Chat Station, one of the famous Chinese leakers. According to the report, OnePlus will replace the circular-shaped camera island with a rectangular design with a round angle located in the upper left corner of the phone.

This design is similar to the onePlus 13T aka OnePlus 13s, although its size may be slightly larger. Initially, there was speculation that OnePlus 15 would not involve co-branding with Hasselblad. However, after OnePlus and Hasselblad extended their partnership, it is likely that Hasselblad will remain involved in developing this phone's camera.

OnePlus 15 is also said to have a screen with a lower resolution than OnePlus 13, although it still uses high-quality panels with very thin LIPO and bezel technology. Screen resolution is estimated at 1.5K.

The phone is predicted to use a 50-megapixel main camera powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor. Its battery capacity is rumored to range from 7,000mAh to 7,500mAh, although the accuracy of this information still needs to be confirmed. OnePlus 15 will also support 100W fast charging via cable and a possible 50W wireless charging.

Interestingly, OnePlus chose to miss number 14 in its product naming. The number "4" is considered unlucky in China, so OnePlus jumped from OnePlus 3 directly to OnePlus 5 a few years ago, and now from OnePlus 13 to OnePlus 15.

OnePlus 15 is expected to be launched globally in the first quarter of next year, following the OnePlus flagship rollout pattern in recent years.
