JAKARTA - The latest research from NTT DATA shows that many health organizations still have difficulty aligning AI's Generative Technology (GenAI) with the strategy being implemented.

More than 80% of health organization leaders surveyed in 33 countries said they already had a well-defined GenAI strategy.

However, only 40% feel that the strategy is truly in line with their main business strategy. In fact, only 54% categorize their GenAI capability as high-performance.

"In order for GenAI's full potential in the health sector to be achieved, organizations need to align this technology with their business strategy," said Sundar Srinivasan, Head of Healthcare, NTT DATA North America in a statement.

The report, entitled GenAI: The Care Plan for Powering Positive Health Outcoms, also found that as many as 75% of respondents admitted that they did not have sufficient skills to manage GenAI effectively.

While the other 93% admitted that they were taking steps to adjust the impact of GenAI on the role and responsibility of employees.

Seeing this fact, Sundar advised health companies to provide comprehensive training for the workforce, as well as implement layered governance that still prioritizes human roles.

"It is very important to show transparently how this technology can support patients without replacing human health workers," he explained.

According to him, the human-centered GenAI solution allows doctors and administrative staff to work more efficiently without compromising the safety and quality of service to patients.
