Astronomer CEO Resigns After Viral "Kiss Cam" Video At Coldplay Concert

JAKARTA - CEO of technology company Astronomer Inc., Andy Byron, officially resigned after being caught on camera making out with a woman who is not his wife while attending a rock concert in Massachusetts. The incident took place on Wednesday 16 July, and quickly went viral on social media.

In a written statement posted on its official LinkedIn account on Saturday, July 19, the company stated that leaders in Astronomers are expected to be role models in terms of behavior and accountability, and that the standard was "not fulfilled" recently.

"Andy Byron has submitted her resignation as CEO and board of directors has accepted it," the statement read. Previously, Byron had been temporarily suspended since Friday, July 18. As a temporary replacement, Chief Product Officer, Pete DeJoy is now the interim CEO.

Byron and Chief People Officer Astronomer, Kristin Cabbot, were caught on camera hugging and looking intimate at Coldplay's concert which took place at Gillette Stadium. The moment was broadcast on the jumbo screen of the stadium and immediately caught the attention of the audience. When they realized that they were being recorded, Byron seemed to be trying to avoid the camera, while Cabbot covered his face with his hands and turned around.

Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin, who watched live from stage, made a spontaneous comment, "Whether they are having an affair or they are very shy."

Netizens quickly identified the two of them through social media profiles, before Astronomers later confirmed their identities. A company spokesman stated that only the two employees were caught on camera in the incident. However, until this news was published, there had been no response from the company regarding the work status of Cabbot.
