IPhone 17 Air May Come With New Camera Position

JAKARTA Apple is rumored to be introducing an ultra-thin variant of the next-generation iPhone with the name iPhone 17 Air or the Slim iPhone 17. The latest leak suggests that this model may have a different front camera position than other iPhone 17 lines.

The leak appeared through a screen shield photo designed for the iPhone 17, which was shared by the famous leaker Majin Bu. In the image, four screen protectors can be seen with labels: IP17, IP17Pro, IP17Air, and IP17Pro Max.

What caught my attention was the iPhone 17 Air, as it became the only model with the front camera on the left side of Dynamic Island, while other models put the camera on the right.

Although Majin Bu has a mixed track record in terms of the accuracy of Apple leaks, he claims that the change in the position of this camera could "enhanced the video calling and selfie experience." However, these claims are doubtful because changes in the camera's point of view technically only slightly affect the user's experience.

Realistically, the shift in the position of this camera is thought to be more due to internal design reasons. If it is true that the iPhone 17 Air comes with a thickness of less than 6 millimeters, then the camera position may be moved to provide space for other internal components.

Previously, leaks related to the iPhone 17 Air also emerged from Apple itself through wallpaper images on the iOS 26 operating system, which allegedly showed screen resolution and size of the device.

With leaks continuing to arrive, the iPhone 17 Air seems to be an experimental model that has broken the iPhone design pattern so far offering a super thin design with intelligent technical compromise.
