JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital together with GoTo, officially launched educational vehicles that will visit 30 cities throughout Indonesia in the context of the #JudiBe sure to Lose national campaign.
The Director General of Digital Space Supervision of the Ministry of Komdigi, Alexander Sabar, said that this campaign would target groups of people who had not been reached with adequate digital information.
Selain itu, Alex juga menegaskan, upaya ini merupakan bentuk kehadiran negara dalam memberikan edukasi secara langsung kepada masyarakat, terutama di wilayah yang minimal akses informasi digital.
The educational car will be a vehicle for movement to convey information about the risks and destructive impacts of online gambling practices.
People who have been victims are also encouraged to share their recovery stories as part of the collective awareness process.
"Online gambling is not only a matter of violating the law, but also structural damage to productivity, family economic stability, and the future of the younger generation," said Alex.
Based on data from the Financial Transaction Supervision and Analysis Center, online gambling practices are expected to cause economic losses of up to Rp1,000 trillion by the end of 2025.
The Ministry of Communication and Industry also encourages cross-sectoral collaboration, including other ministries/agencies, local governments, community organizations, academics, and mass media to take part in strengthening digital literacy and eradicating online gambling practices.
