Komdigi Gives Platform 2 Years To Adjust Its Services With PP Tunas

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs will give the platform two years to adjust its platform to Government Regulation (PP) Number 17 of 2025 concerning Governance for the Implementation of Electronic Systems in Child Protection (PP Tunas).

The Director General of Digital Space Supervision of the Ministry of Komdigi Alexander Sabar said that the 2-year waku investigation was in accordance with the policy stated in the Tunas PP for all PSEs to adjust to this new policy.

"Regarding the timeline, if we read in the PP itself, there is an adjustment time of 2 years," said Alex at the Ngopi with Komdigi event on Friday, May 9 in Jakarta.

Selain itu, Alex kembali menegaskan bahwa PP Tunas ini bukan untuk membatasi anak mengakses ruang digital. Tapi mengatur tata kelola penyelenggara sistem elektronik, dalam hal ini platform media sosial.

"We need to share this perception, we are not limiting, not limiting children. Children have the right to get access to digital spaces. What we make is the governance of electronic system administrators," he added.

He also added that his party had coordinated with all PSEs every week. In addition, he stated that so far there has been no rejection from various social media platforms such as Meta and X regarding the policy.

In fact, according to him, many digital platforms already have their own verification systems. "Yes, so far there has been no rejection. So platforms and even some of them already provide features in the context of protecting children," he said.
