JAKARTA - MPR Deputy Chair Eddy Soeparno visited the head office of Chinese technology company Huawei in Shenzhen, Guangdong province to discuss cooperation in accelerating technology.

The meeting which took place on Thursday (17/4) was one of the agendas of Eddy Soeparno's series of visits to China on April 13-17, 2025.

Earlier in Beijing, Eddy had met with Chairman of the Committee of the China People's Political Consultative Assembly (CPPCC) Wang Huning, Deputy Minister of China's Environment and Ecology Guo Fang and visited the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center (BMC).

At Huawei's office, Eddy has met with Huawei's Vice President for Foreign Affairs Technologies Wang Ke and Huawei Global Asian Affairs Director Anna Liu.

"China's rapid acceleration in advances in information technology is a lesson for the Indonesian government to recruit and manage the best talent in information technology. We hope that Huawei will take a role in the advancement of Indonesian information technology in the future," added Eddy.

The PAN politician also expressed his hope that Huawei's markets and investments in Indonesia would also be followed by scientific transfers and capabilities for young talents in Indonesia.

In addition, Eddy also discussed Indonesia-China and Indonesia's economic relations with other partners based on the spirit of togetherness, equality and mutual respect.

"China and Indonesia choose their respective ways of dealing with the dynamics of global trade rates. However, the two countries still respect each other's steps," he continued.

In addition to the Huawei office, Eddy also visited the Chinese People's Political Consultative Assembly (CPPCC) Shenzhen and to the BYD electric car factory.
