X Will Remove Direct Message Features And Replace With XChat

JAKARTA - The social media platform owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk, X, may soon stop the Direct Message (DM) service on its platform.

This information is known directly from a company software technician, Zach Warunek (@ZachWarunek), who said "all instant messaging services will be closed soon."

However, X doesn't seem to be going to stop the instant messaging service, but they will only replace it with a full chat system called XChat.

This isn't the first rumor we've seen about XChat. Earlier this year, launching Engadget, the X account @xDaily uploaded a screenshot showing the XChat icon, not Messages, on the platform's sidebar.

Then in February, Elon Musk wrote that within a few months, he would stop his phone number and only use X to send text messages and call.

Then, @swak_12 via Android Headlines uploads screenshots showing a PIN verification screen, which is similar to a secure messaging app like Signal for XChat.

Since being bought by Elon Musk, X, formerly known as Twitter, has continued to present innovations or new features that have never existed before.

Recently, xAI, through Grok's official account, said that its Artificial Intelligence (AI) model can now be used to make documents and applications.

This capability is available thanks to the launch of Grok Studio, a new feature such as a canvas that functions as a maker or editer of basic documents and applications. Grok Studio is rolling out in stages to free users and paid users.
