JAKARTA Instagram added a new capability on March 27 for Reels users. Similar to the features on the TikTok platform, Reels users will now get the fast-forward feature.
This feature was launched because Instagram has extended the duration of Reels videos. Over the years, the platform has consistently implemented 15-second videos.

TikTok has supported the show for up to two hours so they provide a fast-forward option. Therefore, Reels also gets the same feature so that they can enjoy the whole video without following its duration.
Users who have received the update can already use this feature. They only need to open Reels, search for short videos with a duration of over 15 seconds, then press and hold the right or left side of the screen until a fast-forward description is visible.
This feature received a good welcome for helping users enjoy Reels content, but not with creators. Content creators may be worried that users will not focus on their content once the feature arrives.
