Avoid Fake And Dangerous QR Codes By Using This Application

JAKARTA - Currently, fraud can be found easily. Cybercriminals not only deceive their victims through phishing links, but also by spreading fake QR codes to apps, websites, and others.

Previously, there was no way to avoid fake QR codes. The only thing you can do is to avoid QR codes obtained from obscure sources or from people you don't know.

However, there are now applications that you can use to find out whether a QR code is fake or not. You can use secure applications such as the QR Scanner-Safe QR Code from the Trend Micro. This application can be found on the Google Play Store.

This application can also be accessed on iOS, but you have to open the Mobile Security app. You will have no trouble using this application because you only need to download the application, open the QR code icon, then direct the camera to the QR you want to scan.

When using this application, there are three things that will be displayed. First, the application from Trend Micro will show that an application is safe without any information. The application will only provide the Copy option or Open Data.

Next, the app will show an Unverified Alert when viewing an unknown app of its origin and whether the app is safe. If you see this warning, then it is not certain whether the QR you want to scan is safe or not.

However, if the QR code does cheat or contains malicious links, the app will give a red warning. Users will be prohibited from unlocking the QR code, but they are still given the Open Only option. At least, the app already shows that its QR code is dangerous.
