JAKARTA TikTok, a popular video distribution platform, is holding a free business training program for Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This event was held on Tuesday, February 11 in Jakarta.

The event, titled Ramadan with TikTok, was attended by 600 MSME participants from various regions. The participants were equipped with inspiring insights and stories to deal with sales at the moment of Ramadan. They also get provisions on content creation.

Ramadan with TikTok is part of the #MajuBarengTikTok program. This program is held regularly every year since 2021 to develop the MSME business. This year, TikTok focuses on business opportunities in the month of Ramadan.

Based on the results of a TikTok study with Toluna, the moment of Ramadan is very important for MSME players because entertainment content has increased a lot. This trend can benefit business actors so that TikTok wants to provide the best tips.

During a media briefing session, TikTok Indonesia Public Policy and Government Relations Marshiella Pandji revealed that this event was not the only attempt by TikTok to support MSMEs in Indonesia.

Marshiella explained that the Chinese platform also supports MSME growth through advertising credit support. Last year, TikTok managed to disburse advertising loans worth US$940 thousand (Rp15.3 billion).

"We provide this ad credit to support or increase the distribution of content that is educational in nature and can be useful for MSME actors," said Marshiella. "The spirit is certainly not far from the #MajuBarengTikTok program."

Advertising credit is a form of allowance provided by TikTok on its platform. This credit can be used to pay for advertisements displayed on the platform. This service was first introduced on the TikTok Southeast Asia Impact Forum 2023.

Since it was first introduced until last year, TikTok's total advertising credit has increased by six times. So far, TikTok has disbursed advertising loans to ten government agencies, state-owned enterprises, industrial partners, and NGOs.

TikTok is committed to continuing to support millions of MSMEs throughout Indonesia. In addition to providing advertising credit support, the company also provides various business features that business actors can use to reach new consumers.
