JAKARTA - IBM's latest study found that 81 percent of Indonesian organizations surveyed plan to increase or maintain their artificial intelligence (AI) budget by 2025.

This is in line with the global trend where 62 percent of companies worldwide plan to increase AI investment, and nearly two-fifths (39 percent) of them will increase their budget by 25-50 percent.

"The findings of this study confirm that companies in Indonesia continue to accelerate AI adoption," said Roy Kosasih, President Director of IBM Indonesia in its official statement.

In addition, companies in Indonesia are also increasingly careful in allocating their AI investments. Where 68 percent of the organization will optimize the use of information technology (IT).

In addition to IT, the organization will also optimize in various other aspects including data quality management (41 percent) as well as product and service innovation (37 percent).

In an effort to optimize AI investment, companies in Indonesia have identified several major strategic changes that will be made in 2025.

The majority of respondents (57 percent) highlighted the importance of using open-source technology, while 49 percent planned to adopt managed cloud services to increase efficiency.

In fact, to support AI's adoption in his company, 45 percent of respondents emphasized the importance of recruiting AI specialist talents to accelerate digital transformation.
