Tokocrypto's New CEO Ready To Bring Innovation And Strengthen Crypto Ecosystem

JAKARTA - Throughout 2024, Tokocrypto recorded the value of crypto asset trading transactions of more than US$8 billion or equivalent to Rp130 trillion.

As Tokocrypto's new CEO, Calvin Kizana is optimistic that by 2025 they can target a three or more than three-fold increase in transaction value compared to the previous year.

"From 2023 to 2024, we will increase more than 3 times. In 2024 to 2025, at least we have to triple or more. That's why I said this is a very tough homework for me," said Calvin in front of the Indonesia Crypto Outlook 2025 event on Friday, February 7 in Jakarta.

In addition, in his new position replacing Yudhono Rawis as a leader at Tokocrypto, Calvin has three company focuses to be carried out.

First and most absolute, according to him, Tokocrypto will always innovate and create new products, which are comply with existing regulations in Indonesia.

The second is that we want to empower the ecosystem and the community. This is also our goal is to support more local projects as well," he said.

According to Calvin, there are so many crypto developers and communities in Indonesia, which are a shame to be wasted, considering the crypto asset industry is constantly growing rapidly.

"Well, the third pillar is compliance. With the transition from CoFTRA to OJK, this is really needed for a regulation that is even tighter and also develops trust from the market," said Calvin.

He and Tokocrypto also positively welcomed the transfer of crypto asset supervision from the Indonesian Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (CoFTRA) to the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

He believes this transfer will increase the trust of users and investors, which will also support the growth of the crypto industry in the country.

"So by moving to OJK, this is actually very positive. Because OJK everyone understands. Banks are supervised by OJK, all capital markets are supervised by OJK. So when they know Bitcoin, this cryptocurrency is now an OJK partner, this actually increases their trust," he said.
