JAKARTA - Twitch announced a new feature for content creators collaborating with other streamers as well as with their live broadcast viewers, called "Guest Star".

Twitch said on Friday, July 1, that Guest Star will be able to feature up to six people, consisting of one host, and five guests.

"Guest Star is a tool that makes it easy, safe and fun for content creators to host - whether it's other creators or viewers on the stream," Twitch said in a tweet.

In a thread it created, the company also included a video explaining how the feature works. So, it looks a bit similar to the Zoom view. Where in the combined live you can see the phone receiver button, the microphone icon, and the raise hand button.

For viewers who want to ask questions during streaming, they can directly use the raise hand button provided. After that, the host can directly invite them.

It works in a similar way to Twitter Spaces and Clubhouse, but on Twitch it supports live video and audio just like any other Twitch streaming service.

This Guest Star feature also gives the host the flexibility to control the broadcast. Hosts can delete guests at any time for any reason.

For starters, Guest Star will only roll out to a select few streamers. The selected streamer will later get alpha access which will be released this summer. While a full release for all content creators is planned for the end of this year.
