JAKARTA - Adobe brings a new experience for users, where Photoshop and Illustrator can be accessed through the website version.

It's not really a whole suite of Photoshop and Illustrator tools, but a web app that lets users open documents and make basic edits. This web version also allows users to comment on and share work with collaborators, similar to that implemented in Google Docs.

If given permission by the file owner, the user can also log in and make some basic changes as well. However, this Photoshop web app is still in beta, and Illustrator on the web is an invite-only private beta.

"We didn't deliver all the features on day one, but we really wanted to unlock all the basic editing that's best done now in the browser with anyone you work with," Adobe chief product officer Scott Belsky told The Verge on Tuesday, October 27.

While Belsky describes the web version of Photoshop as offering light level editing that works with real PSD files. These features are one of the big themes of this Adobe announcement, making it easier for people to collaborate across its Creative Cloud services.

In addition, Adobe has brought Creative Cloud management applications to the web. Two new online features accessible from that interface join the web versions of Creative Cloud Spaces and Creative Cloud Canvas.

A number of other new features will also be present in Photoshop. As object selection tools become more powerful, showing exactly what can be highlighted automatically when the user hovers over the object.

There is also a new neural filter, the landscape mixer, which allows users to remix edits with different settings or seasons. New color transfer and harmonization filters also allow users to apply the appearance of one image or layer to another layered image. Adobe also says that last year's Depth Blur filter has been improved to create a more natural blurred background.
