JAKARTA - Segway has introduced its first robotic mower, the Navimow. This robot uses GPS to stay on your page and keep it tidy. So unlike other lawn mower robots, you don't need to install a wire guard to keep the robot in the right grass.

Segway says its Exact Fusion Locating System keeps the Navimow for “precise positioning and a systematic cutting pattern”, keeping its position accurate to within two centimeters. If the GPS signal is temporarily weak, Navimow has sensors that will keep it moving.

The user defines the boundary of the area to be trimmed for Navimow using their smartphone application. Including giving directions on which areas to avoid. Segway says Navimow's algorithm "defines a systemic cut path", and doesn't have to traverse an area that's already pruned.

Navimow has an offset bar that allows it to crop as close to the edge of the page as possible. Its Blade Halt technology can detect things in the grass such as pets, toys, or children, and stop the blades of the lawnmower from turning.

Meanwhile, Segway says the Navimow can "withstand rainfall, heavy splashes, and high-pressure jets of water". Its rain sensor can guide it back to the charging station if it detects it is starting to rain. Segway hasn't said when the Navimow will be available in the US.

The Navimow can handle lawn inclines of up to 45 degrees and travels at a relatively quiet 54 dB noise level. Segway has four Navimow models starting with the H500E, which can be used in yards of up to 500 square meters, or about 5.400 square feet in area, and is priced at $1.425.

The Navimow H800, priced at $1.781, is designed for lawns up to 800 square meters. The H1500E can handle a 1.500 square meter lawn at a price of USD 2.375 (IDR 33.8 million), and the H3000E can mow up to 3000 square meters of grass for a price tag of USD 2.969 (IDR 42.3 million).
