JAKARTA - Apple is reportedly in Asia in further talks with Toyota. The company is likely to strike a deal with the Japanese automaker to make the Apple Car, which goes into production in 2024.
The company has also met with representatives of SK Group in South Korea, as well as LG Electronics and it appears that Toyota is now seen as a potential partner, according to reports circulating as quoted by MacRumors, Monday, September 6.
Apple has been working on car-related projects since at least 2014, and now that the company is reducing its focus on autonomous vehicle software, it will be producing its own branded cars.
The Cupertino giant will also produce EV batteries in the United States (US). The company is developing a new battery design that has the potential to "radically" reduce battery costs and increase vehicle range.
