JAKARTA - TikTok seems to be experimenting with again adding video durations on its platform to five minutes or more. Previously, TikTok had added a video upload duration of up to three minutes in December 2020.
Quoted from Pocket Lint, Thursday, August 26, this was first reported by social media activist Matt Navarra through his Twitter. In Navarra's post, some users appear to have accepted the option to upload five-minute video content.

TikTok does often pick a few lucky users to test the feature out, and notify them via a notification message. "Upload videos of up to 5 minutes from your device. Make sure you are using the latest version of TikTok before trying features on your app or tiktok.com," the message reads.
Some users via Twitter also indicated that they were given the option to upload videos that had a time limit of up to 10 minutes. This shows, TikTok is still weighing a new threshold that is ideal for rolling out to all users. It is not yet known for sure when the additional duration of this video will be launched.
It's worth noting that this isn't the only change we could see soon, as TikTok is also rumored to be launching a Snapchat-like feature called Shopping, which was announced earlier this week.
Recently, TikTok has also entered into a partnership with Shopify, offering business users the option to add a shopping tab to their TikTok profile. This allows them to showcase products and link to their online store for payment.
