JAKARTA - Apple has finally officially brought a new feature that users may have been waiting for, namely support for lossless streaming and Spatial Audio for Android users.

The tech company has confirmed to Engadget that it has started rolling out the new high-quality streaming options, although they weren't specifically mentioned in the Android app's release notes.

Apple first announced that streaming options updates were available to subscribers at no additional cost last May. The company promises a more immersive experience similar to what Tidal HiFi and Amazon Music HD offer.

The option also came to Apple users last June, but was limited to select albums. Apple promises to make Dolby Atmos content easy to find with curated playlists and custom tags.

Meanwhile, Apple also plans to bring lossless streaming to its entire catalog with 75 million songs. To be able to enjoy this new high quality audio and lossless streaming, users must use speakers or headphones that are compatible with the device.

Apple previously said that AirPods and Beats earphones and headphones with an H1 or W1 chip, as well as speakers on the latest iPhones, iPads, and Macs will work with Dolby Spatial Audio.

For the record, users should also find out if the audio device used can support Spatial Audio. Meanwhile, lossless audio requires a wired connection and will not work with wireless audio devices.
