JAKARTA - The Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Meutya Hafid, revealed that several Electronic System Operators (PSE) have carried out self assessment or self assessment of PP Tunas for child protection.
Based on the report as of June 9, 2026, there have been 175 Products, Services, and Features (PLF) under the auspices of 64 PSEs that have submitted the results of self-assessment to Komdigi for further evaluation.
"It has been exactly three months since the PP TUNAS was implemented at the end of March 2026. Currently, there are around 175 PLFs under the auspices of 64 PSEs that have carried out self-assessments and submitted them to Kemkomdigi," Meutya said in his statement on Tuesday, June 9.
The process of reporting this self-assessment is a form of compliance of the platform with PP TUNAS, by conducting an internal assessment of their respective products, features, and services or platforms. Then report the results directly to Komdigi.
A number of platforms that have already reported include Netflix, Vidio, HBO Max, Disney, Roblox, PUBG Online, Crossfire, Age of Empire Mobile, Valorant, Free Fire, and Mobile.
Meanwhile, for the e-commerce category that has reported self-assessment, namely Shopee, Tokopedia, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. In the payment system category such as Dana, Gopay, Flip.id, and ChatGPT, and Grab for other categories.
Self assessment for digital platform organizers is part of the obligation to comply with Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in the Protection of Children (PP TUNAS) which was fully implemented at the end of March.
There are several aspects that must be evaluated, including identifying the level of risk of the platform for users under the age of 16, the potential exposure to harmful content (violence, pornography, bullying), the readiness and accuracy of the age verification system and the content moderation mechanism and the availability of parental control features.
Later, the results of the evaluation will be the basis for determining the risk category of the platform and its suitability for certain age groups.
Regarding this, Indonesia has chosen a mechanism that not only focuses on child protection, but also encourages platforms to improve features and governance to make them safer for child users.
"This approach is different from a number of countries that implement comprehensive restrictions on children's access to social media, platforms must also be willing to change for the better. Therefore, we measure the changes they make, including features that are made to be safer for children," said Meutya.
