BRIN Ready to Help Research Middle School Students who Found a NASA Security Gap

JAKARTA - Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Arif Satria handed over an appreciation gift in the form of an iPad Pro to Firoos Ghatfaan Ramadhan, an SMP student who discovered a security gap in the NASA system.

In addition to the physical prize, BRIN is also committed to funding various research projects carried out by the 14-year-old student in the future. When handing over the appreciation prize, Arif said he was impressed by Firoos's research ideas.

Moreover, the research that Firoos wants to carry out is not limited to the field of information technology only. Therefore, Firoos is asked to immediately prepare a research proposal so that funding from BRIN can be immediately provided.

SMP IT Aalamy Subang, the school where Firoos studied, was asked to accompany the development of the proposal submitted by the child. BRIN promised to provide full support so that Firoos' potential can develop optimally and professionally.

In addition to financial assistance, Firoos will also be met with senior researchers in the BRIN environment. This is done so that Firoos can get direct guidance from experts to hone his abilities more deeply.

"God willing, I will convey to Firoos that the proposal is made to research. God willing, BRIN will help finance the research," said Arif in his statement, quoted on Monday, May 4.

Firoos previously also received the NASA Hall of Fame award after reporting the discovery of a security gap in the US space agency's system. This discovery is so important that Firoos received a lot of appreciation, both at home and abroad.
