JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) supports the Ministry of Communication and Digital through Government Regulation (PP) Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems in the Protection of Children (PP TUNAS).
This regulation is considered a strategic and concrete step by the government in strengthening the protection of Indonesian children from the threat of radicalism which is increasingly massive in the digital space.
The Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Meutya Hafid, emphasized that child protection in cyberspace is the government's top priority.
He also added that PP TUNAS is a direct follow-up to the input of various parties, including BNPT, to create a much safer digital space for Indonesian children.
Meanwhile, the Head of BNPT, Inspector General of Police (Ret.) Eddy Hartono, expressed full support for this policy. He assessed that this policy was a bold step from Komdigi.
"PP TUNAS is a very appropriate and courageous step from Kemkomdigi. This is a real implementation of the mandate of the Law to protect children from the dangers of electronic systems," said Eddy.
The head of BNPT emphasized that this regulation is very crucial as part of the strategy to prevent terrorism in the digital era. Previously, BNPT together with law enforcement officers had succeeded in stopping recruitment efforts for 112 children through the Roblox platform.
"Communication features in online games can become a digital gap for grooming and exposure to radical ideology. With PP TUNAS, we strengthen the defense systematically against the propaganda of terrorist networks that target children," he said firmly.
Eddy Hartono emphasized the commitment of BNPT to continue to synergize closely with the Ministry of Communication and Information and all stakeholders to ensure that Indonesia's digital space is truly safe for the younger generation.
