JAKARTA - YouTube is testing a new feature called Ask YouTube. This is an AI-based search feature that provides answers by combining text and video.

By using this experimental feature, users can make complex requests such as planning a trip to a city in great detail. YouTube will later generate a guide according to the request.

The guide can include explanations in the form of text, short clips, and long videos. Ask YouTube also supports the submission of follow-up statements so that users can search for more in-depth information.

For example, after planning a travel route, users can immediately ask for recommendations for the best coffee places in that location. YouTube will include video titles and channel details in these AI search results.

Currently, YouTube Tanya is only available as a limited experimental feature for Premium subscribers in the US. This feature can only be used by customers who are 18 years or older.

Users must register at the URL youtube.com/new to access the feature. Although access is still limited, Google states that they will expand this feature so that it can also be accessed by non-Premium users.

The presence of the Ask and Answer feature is part of Google's big strategy in developing AI innovations. Last year, the company introduced an AI mode for multi-part questions and a product price exploration feature.
