Gartner: Alibaba Cloud Becomes the Largest Cloud Provider in Asia Pacific by Revenue

Jakarta - Alibaba Cloud has again been recognized as the largest provider of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) in Asia Pacific based on revenue in 2025, with a market share of 22.5%, up from 20.8% the previous year.

Based on the latest Gartner report titled Market Share: IaaS, Worldwide, 2025, released on April 10, this increase reflects the growth in demand for cloud services, especially driven by the need for artificial intelligence (AI) in the region.

Alibaba Cloud said this achievement reflects the company's ongoing investment in infrastructure optimized for AI, as well as its commitment to meeting the growing AI needs of companies in the region.

"Our increased market share in Asia Pacific and globally reflects the implementation of AI-native and agent-native cloud strategies, as well as our continued focus on delivering value to customers," said Chief Technology Officer, Alibaba Cloud, Li Feifei.

Alibaba Cloud's growth momentum is also seen in a number of key markets, where the company maintains its leading position based on revenue in Mainland China and Hong Kong, as well as taking second place in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Globally, Alibaba Cloud also ranks fourth as the world's largest IaaS provider based on revenue in 2025, with its market share increasing to 7.7% from 7.2% in 2024.

Alibaba Cloud's strong performance is supported by its strategy in driving AI-based growth. The company continues to invest in infrastructure optimized for AI to support the large-scale use of AI in various industries, with a total of 78 data centers in Asia.

By providing the computing, storage, networking, and security capabilities needed for AI use in production environments, as well as a comprehensive set of AI models and tools, Alibaba Cloud is further strengthening its position as the cloud platform of choice in the AI era, both in Asia Pacific and globally.
