Pixel Phone Battery Becomes Expensive After Google Releases April 2026 Update

JAKARTA - Pixel mobile phone users are currently complaining about their battery problems becoming more wasteful. This happens after their devices run the April 2026 update.

Launching from 9to5google, hundreds of complaints about the problem have filled the Issue Tracker platform in recent days. To address the problem, Google is conducting an in-depth investigation.

The Pixel's battery drain is allegedly caused by the CPU's continuous activity in the background even when the phone is not being used. In fact, some users reported that the battery was still drained even though the device was in airplane mode.

The impact is that the battery life of the phone is reduced drastically to half of the usual. Some users complain that the active screen duration only lasts a few hours before the device shuts down completely.

Google has officially acknowledged this problem since April 14. Until now, Google continues to ask for bug reports that appear from affected users to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

Until this news was made, there was no official solution or emergency update released by Google to address the issue. The development team is known to still be working hard to identify the root of the problem in the operating system (OS) code.

Although it is not yet certain when the repair will arrive, this problem is expected to be resolved through a security update in May. More information about the repair will be announced after there is official information from Google.
