JAKARTA - SEEK, the parent company of Jobstreet, announced the launch of an English language proficiency verification feature on SEEK Pass, SEEK's credential verification platform, in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

Through a partnership with IELTS (International English Language Testing System) and Pearson, provider of the Pearson Test of English (PTE), job seekers can now verify that they have completed a recognised English language assessment through SEEK Pass.

Once verified, these credentials can be displayed on the candidate's profile and job application on the SEEK, Jobstreet, and Jobsdb platforms, making it easier for companies to find candidates with the foreign language skills they need.

This launch is in line with the increasing English proficiency in the recruitment process for many positions in Asia Pacific, including in Indonesia.

This ability is also very needed for jobs that require cross-country collaboration in multinational companies, as well as important for customer service, hospitality, and frontline positions, as well as the import-export industry.

It is important to know that both IELTS and PTE have been widely recognized by leading universities and colleges in Indonesia, government agencies including the LPDP scholarship program (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan), as well as multinational companies operating in Indonesia.

"Partnering with IELTS and Pearson to bring English language proficiency verification to SEEK Pass means we are solving a real problem for millions of job seekers and the companies who want to recruit them," SEEK Pass General Manager Xavier Russo said in a statement.

SEEK Pass has helped 4.5 million job seekers verify their credentials across Asia Pacific. In Australia and New Zealand, verified applicants have a 20% higher chance of being shortlisted by companies.

English language verification adds to the suite of credentials that can be verified by SEEK Pass, which includes identity verification, work permits, education, employment history, as well as specific industry licenses and certifications.

SEEK Pass plans to expand its English language proficiency verification partnership on its platform to include other certification providers in the future.
