Google is now making it easier for desktop users by releasing a special application. This search application is available for Windows-based computer users after starting in September 2025 for several months.
This Google desktop-specific application is launched for Windows users in English. Interestingly, this application can be easily accessed using the Alt + Space keyboard shortcut which will bring up a search box.
The feature can be used to search for data on the web, Google Drive, to local files and applications that are imagined. Basically, this application will work like Spotlight on Mac devices.
Google apps on the desktop are also integrated with AI Mode and Google Lens. Thanks to this support, users can translate text, search for images, and get help with tasks without having to open the browser first.
One of the features offered by Google is the ability to share the entire screen to ask contextual questions. Users can select a specific window so that AI can understand what is being worked on and provide relevant suggestions.
Search results will appear in a floating window that allows users to ask follow-up questions. The interface design is made similar to the Google app experience on mobile devices.
This application can be used on devices with the Windows 10 operating system (OS) or later. Users can download the application through the official Google Search website.
Although the new desktop version of the Google app is currently available for Windows, the development team is known to be developing a similar application for macOS.
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
