Strengthen Content Moderation System with AI, Roblox Closes 5,000 Problematic Servers Every Day

JAKARTA - In its March 2026 Safety Snapshot report, Roblox reported that it had managed to close around 5,000 game sessions per day that violated Community Standards.

This achievement was made possible thanks to its security system using artificial intelligence (AI) based moderation technology, which is able to monitor content in real-time and thoroughly in one scene.

The company revealed that its latest multimodal moderation system can detect violations by analyzing a combination of elements such as avatars, text, and 3D objects simultaneously.

Unlike traditional moderation systems that only assess one object, this new technology reads the entire context of the scene. If a repeated violation is detected in a single game session, the system will immediately shut down the server without having to shut down the entire game.

In the future, the company is targeting this system to be able to monitor up to 100 percent of playing time, while continuing to improve accuracy to minimize detection errors (false positives).

In addition to strengthening moderation, Roblox also increases transparency for creators through the Creator Dashboard update. This new feature in the form of a daily graph allows creators to monitor the number of servers that are closed due to problematic user behavior, such as harassment, discrimination, and sexual content.

Thus, creators can take immediate action before it has a wider impact on their community. Creators can also review features in the game, such as custom emotes, avatar editing tools, and determine whether adjustments need to be made to prevent inappropriate content from appearing.

On the other hand, Roblox, along with Keyword Studios and Riot Games, as well as research psychologist Rachel Kowert, initiated the "DLC Leadership" certification program, which aims to fill the lack of training standards for online moderators, community managers, and creators in the gaming industry.
