JAKARTA - WhatsApp is seen developing a new feature to summarize unread messages. This new feature was found in the WhatsApp beta version 2.26.12.10 for Android devices.

This feature uses 'Private Processing' technology that Meta has developed specifically to maintain privacy. The system ensures that the original message content and the summary cannot be accessed by anyone, including WhatsApp.

The security of this computing architecture has been independently audited by security experts from NCC Group and Trail of Bits. The audit confirmed that the privacy standards used already meet global security protocols.

When this feature is widely available, users will see the option to create a summary when opening a special filter for unread chats. If the option is tapped, the system will take the latest messages to be processed in an encrypted manner.

It is important to note that this feature is optional and is not automatically activated since its launch. Users must manually grant permission through the application settings if they want to try the artificial intelligence (AI) based feature.

Currently, WhatsApp is still perfecting its processing mechanism so that the summary of several chats remains accurate. It is not known how long the feature will be tested and which countries have access to the test.

The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
