JAKARTA - OpenAI's artificial intelligence-based browser, Atlas Browser, now gets an important update that allows users to log into multiple ChatGPT accounts at once through different user profiles.

This new feature allows users to separate their AI activities based on needs, such as work, study, and personal use, without having to log in and out of the account repeatedly.

Previously, Atlas had provided a user profile system. However, each profile can only be connected to one same ChatGPT account. This condition becomes an obstacle for many users who have several different accounts for various purposes.

With the latest update, users can now connect different ChatGPT accounts to each browser profile. This means that a person can have a "Work" profile connected to a company account with certain security history and settings, while a "Personal" profile is connected to a personal account with a different conversation context.

Atlas product lead Adam Fry said this feature is one of the biggest requests from users since the launch of the browser. In his upload on the X platform, Fry explained that the limitations of logging into previous accounts were the main reason why many users had not made Atlas their main browser.

This update also makes the user workflow more efficient. Users no longer have to log out and log in to their accounts several times a day just to switch from work context to personal activities.

Since its launch last year, Atlas has tried to offer a new approach to browsing the internet by integrating AI capabilities that can run cross-tab tasks. This concept is often referred to as an "agentic" browser, which is a browser that not only displays web pages, but can also actively help users complete their work.

Despite having strong AI capabilities, Atlas was once considered to be behind established browsers such as Google Chrome and Safari in terms of basic features.

The OpenAI development team in recent months has focused on adding various functions that have become standard in modern browsers. Weekly updates released include support for importing extensions, renaming tabs, and tab grouping features to organize the pages that are being opened.

In practice, modern browsers are now beginning to evolve from mere "internet windows" into a kind of digital work center. If this trend continues, the future browser may not only help open websites, but also work on some user tasks - from summarizing documents to running automated processes on multiple pages at once.
