JAKARTA - Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo officially confirmed the presence of a new flagship phone called Vivo X300s. This device will be part of the X300 series and comes as an alternative to a large screen with high-end photography capabilities.

The confirmation was made by Vivo product manager, Han Boxiao. He explained that the company had considered the name Vivo X300 Max due to significant specification improvements, but eventually chose to stick with the "s" naming scheme as in the previous series refresh.

According to Boxiao, the letter "s" on this device refers to "SuperMax", which describes the improvement in performance and overall capabilities of the device.

This device is designed for users who want a flagship smartphone with a large screen without sacrificing photographic capabilities. Trends in the past few years show that many camera-focused phones are switching to a more compact design, but Vivo is trying to bring together a wide screen and professional-grade camera in one device.

Vivo X300s will come with a 6.78-inch screen using a BOE Q10 Plus panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. This is the first time in the X series to feature such a high refresh rate. The screen is also said to support up to 144 frames per second in certain MOBA games.

The screen panel is also equipped with Zeiss color calibration technology as well as circular polarization which is designed to improve eye comfort when used for a long time.

In the audio sector, this phone will use the 1115 symmetrical stereo speaker system previously used on the iQOO 15. This system is equipped with an amplifier and improved audio algorithms to produce a wider sound field.

According to Vivo, this audio enhancement will make sounds in the game such as footsteps or shots sound clearer, thus helping players determine the position of the opponent more accurately.

For a more immersive gaming experience, the device is also equipped with a large-sized 4D vibration motor that is specially designed. The motor is claimed to be the largest and most powerful ever installed on the X series device, and is able to deliver more detailed vibration effects on more than ten popular games.

In the camera sector, Vivo ensures that this device will use a 200-megapixel Zeiss main sensor. Although other details have not been revealed, previous reports say that the phone's camera system will consist of three cameras, including a 50-megapixel telephoto periscope camera.

The device is also expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset and be equipped with a large battery of around 7,000 mAh. Fast charging support is said to reach 90W for the cable and 40W for wireless charging.

The Vivo X300s is expected to run Android 16-based OriginOS 6 operating system and has IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance certifications.

This device is expected to be launched simultaneously with another premium model in the series, namely the Vivo X300 Ultra, which is likely to be introduced in the near future.

In the modern smartphone industry, specification numbers often look like Formula 1 races: the refresh rate is higher, the camera is bigger, the battery is more monster. But behind these numbers there is an interesting reality.

Mobile phones are no longer just communication tools, but pocket computers that must be able to play games, shoot like a professional camera, and last all day without running out of energy. Small evolutions in each component often feel like a big leap in the hands of users
