JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital has launched the Digital Addiction Response Assistance (DARA) service in response to the increasing concern of parents about gaming addiction in children.

The Minister of Communication and Information, Meutya Hafid, said that the presence of DARA came from the anxiety of the community, especially parents who felt difficulty in dealing with changes in children's behavior due to excessive exposure to online games.

DARA service is intended as a safe and private consultation room for children and families who face digital addiction issues.

"Parents are certainly very disturbed by this condition. On the one hand, we know that games can trigger creativity, so we do not close the game industry. But at the same time, the state must be present to help our children who are exposed to addiction," he said, quoted Monday, March 2.

"DARA is important because it puts families at the forefront. When parents get practical and non-judgmental guidance, families will be better able to maintain balance. Children can still enjoy games in a healthy way without sacrificing their rights," said Arifah.
