JAKARTA - Apple users' long wait for Siri's evolution seems to be coming to an end after reports emerged that a major overhaul of this virtual assistant will debut soon in the iOS 26.4 beta version. After being left behind in the artificial intelligence race for so long, Apple is reportedly taking a big step by integrating Google's Gemini technology into their Apple Intelligence ecosystem.

News about the presence of a smarter Siri has actually been circulating since the beginning of 2026, but strong evidence in the form of code references in iOS 26.4 has now confirmed that its launch is just a matter of days.

The latest report from Bloomberg confirms that Apple has signed a strategic deal with Google to use Gemini technology as the driving force behind Siri. Although the public version of the new iOS 26.4 will only be released to the market in March or April, Apple plans to officially introduce this new Siri ability in the second half of February.

It remains a question mark whether this major announcement will be made through a special, grand event or will be introduced more quietly through a briefing at Apple's Creator Studio for content creators.

One of the main focuses of the new Siri is its ability to integrate deeply with users' personal data. This also answers criticism of Apple's previous controversial ads that depicted a woman asking Siri where she met someone; a feature that when the ad was released was considered a hollow promise, will now actually be a real function.

However, despite using Google's technology as its main foundation, Apple still maintains their prestige by not mentioning Google's name at all in the system.

Technically, this new Siri technology is known internally as Apple Foundation Models version 10. To maintain security and privacy, this model will be run through Apple's Private Cloud Compute server. The strength is not trivial, this latest model is estimated to have around 1.2 trillion parameters.

This figure is a giant leap compared to Apple's previous artificial intelligence model which only has about 150 billion parameters. Although this step seems rushed to meet the deadline, Apple seems very confident in proving that Siri is now capable of doing everything they have promised for the past two years.
