JAKARTA - OpenAI is opening a vacancy for the position of Head of Preparedness, to lead the development and implementation of the most advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models in a safe and responsible manner.
The position, which will be based in San Francisco and report directly to the Safety Systems team, will be responsible for the formulation and execution of OpenAI's latest AI model readiness framework.
"We are building an evaluation, security, and security framework that helps our models behave as expected in real-world environments," the company wrote in its official announcement.
The framework is OpenAI's foundation for tracking, evaluating, and mitigating emerging risks as the capabilities of AI frontier models increase.
OpenAI said it had invested heavily in Preparedness over several generations of AI models, including the development of capability evaluation, threat modeling, and cross-functional mitigation.
As the complexity of systems and the protections applied increase, this role is considered increasingly crucial, to expand, strengthen, and guide the safety standards of corporate AI models.
Later, the Head of Preparedness will lead the development of frontier capability evaluation to remain precise, robust, and scalable in the fast product development cycle.
In addition, this position also oversees mitigation design in various key risk areas, such as cybersecurity and biosecurity, and ensures that the results of the evaluation directly affect product launch decisions and internal policies.
Amid the onslaught of sophisticated AI models from other technology giants, OpenAI reaffirmed its commitment as an AI research and application company that is oriented towards safety and broad benefits for humanity.
