Xiaomi Leaks 17 Ultra Appears, Reveals New Camera Module Design

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is getting closer to its official release.

The latest leak about Xiaomi 17 Ultra is stealing attention again after several live photos allegedly displaying the flagship's original form circulated on the Weibo platform.

Although the device appears to be wrapped in a thick protective case, a number of important details, especially the camera module, can still be clearly visible. These photos also reinforce previous rumors that Xiaomi is turning to a triple camera configuration for the latest Ultra model.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be the successor to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and complement the Xiaomi 17 series that was introduced a few months ago. As the highest variant of the line, it is projected to be one of the best photography phones in the world.

Xiaomi has been hit for the past few weeks by leaked specifications, but the appearance of this direct photo is one of the strong indications that the device has entered the public testing phase.

In the circulating photo, the device is indeed closed with a large protective case designed to disguise shape, but the rear camera module remains visible. The module appears to retain the typical Xiaomi circle design, as adopted on the previous Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

However, the lens layout looks slightly different. Two camera sensors appear to be placed at the bottom of the module, while one large lens in the upper left corner is thought to be a periscope-based telephoto camera. On top of that large lens, there are two LED flashes vertically arranged.

The change in the number of cameras to three units also sparked speculation that Xiaomi may have left the quad-camera configuration on its predecessor. Rumors circulated that the company was testing a new technology that would allow one periscope lens to offer multiple levels of optical zoom at once, thus requiring no additional telephoto modules. However, all of this information is still speculative to official announcements.

Recent leaked technical information provides a clearer picture of the camera system that may be carrying. Xiaomi 17 Ultra is said to be able to carry a 50MP OVX10500U main sensor, a 200MP S5KHPE telephoto sensor, as well as a 50MP OV50M ultrawide sensor or 50MP S5KJN5.

If these rumors are accurate, the device will offer a significant improvement, especially on zoom capabilities and remote photography. In addition, like other Android flagships released next year, Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

This latest Ultra Model is also confirmed to be released globally. The track of the device with model number 2512BPNDAG which is believed to be a global variant has been found in the IMEI database. Its launch pattern likely follows its predecessor: China's first debut, then a global release around March 2026.

This direct photo leak signals that Xiaomi 17 Ultra is getting closer to its official release. With the combination of updated camera module designs, high-end sensors, and the latest generation processors, this phone is expected to be one of the most taken into account in the flagship market next year.
