Apple Will Launch Three New Features To Mac Via MacOS Tahoe 26.2, Here's The Improvement

JAKARTA Apple will present three new features through the MacOS Tahoe 26.2. All three features that include improving the experience of these devices are expected to come in December.

Launching from 9to5mac, these three improvements will be found in video calling applications, Artificial Intelligence support, to alarm reminders. Here are the details of each feature seen during beta testing.

Edge Light On Video Call

Apple is improving the video calling experience across compatible Mac devices. This feature, named Edge Light, is here to emulate the lighting of the ring lights. This virtual effect adds light to the edge of the Mac screen to illuminate the face in the dark room.

Edge Light uses a Neural Engine that can detect the user's face, size, and position for accurate lighting. Meanwhile, the Image Signal Processor in its features can precisely adjust the brightness of the light to the surrounding environment.

This feature requires Macs with Apple silicon chips, such as M1 or later. Users can activate them manually, but Mac 2024 or later can activate them automatically in a dim environment.

Supercomputer AI

For professionals and researchers, the macOS 26.2 update will really help them. The reason is, Apple will bring a new low latency feature to connect multiple Macs using Thunderbolt 5.

With this feature, they can create state-of-the-art AI supercomputers to run local models. This feature takes full advantage of Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. With this, the Mac Studio cluster can run the Kimi-K2-Thinking model with 1 trillion parameters.

Urges An Alarm

Apple's favorite app also gets an important upgrade in macOS 26.2 and iOS 26.2. Users can later mark a time-limited reminder as 'Encouraged'. This simple button will trigger a strong alarm on your device.
