Qualcomm Will Launch Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

JAKARTA After launching the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm will present a lower version, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. This processor will complement the lineup of their premium products.

Despite apparently running out of name ideas, Qualcomm has announced the presence of this processor since September 2025, to be precise when ending Snapdragon Summit's presentation.

They stated that the presence of this processor will provide users with more options.

So far, there has been no official information or details regarding this processor. If you search on the official Qualcomm website, you will only get results for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

However, leaks from industry sources cited from Android Police stated that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will be built using the 3nm TSMC process and the Oryon CPU architecture. This architecture and manufacturing process are the same as the Elite model.

This processor will have an octa-core configuration with two 3.8GHz supercores and six 3.32GHz bigcores, as well as an 840 Adreno GPU. When compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, this upcoming processor is less powerful.

The Elite model has two main 4.6GHz cores and six large 3.6GHz cores, as well as a higher performance Adreno GPU. Despite the decline in GPU performance, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor does not feel like a mid-range processor.

With this leaked specification, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is likely to occupy the same space as the Elite version, but is right behind it. The first producer expected to adopt this processor is OnePlus.
