JAKARTA Bluesky, a microblog platform that competes with platform X, will test the dislike button on posts. This feature was released to improve personalization in the Discover feed and other feeds.

When users give dislikes for a post, the system will learn the type of content they don't like. This will help Bluesky rank content on the feed while ranking replies.

This feature comes after some users criticized the latest moderation decisions on the platform. Many want firmness from Bluesky in blocking bad actors or controversial figures.

However, Bluesky remains focused as a decentralized network that frees its users from making decisions. This can be seen from the various self-control tools presented to the platform.

Various control tools available for moderation needs include content filters, mute words, and the ability to separate citation posts. The last feature comes to limit unwanted attention.

Apart from not liking it, the company is also testing a new system that will map the social environment in Bluesky. This system prioritizes replies from people who often interact and are closer to the user's environment.

Bluesky also stated that its latest model is now better at detecting toxic replies, spams, not according to topics, or posted in bad faith. Such replies will be downgraded in threads, search results, and notifications.

Users will also get a modified Reply button. This feature will direct the user to the full thread. This is a simple way to encourage users to read threads before leaving replies.
