JAKARTA - Samsung is again defining a way of interacting with television. The South Korean company officially launched the world's first smart TV app powered by Perplexity AI, now available for all Samsung Smart TV 2025 models.
Samsung TV users from 2023 2024 will also get this artificial intelligence through software updates scheduled for year-end releases.
Samsung calls this application part of the Vision AI Companion platform, which was first introduced at the IFA 2025 event last month. The app brings a new concept TV that can be talked to', where users can ask questions and immediately get interactive visual answers on their big screens without the need for additional mobile phones or laptops.

Different from the results of plain text, this Perplexity AI application displays a visual response card with an optimized design for large screens. Users can access information in real-time from trusted sources, either through voice commands or text input.
Want to know the recommendations for the best Halloween film? Looking for a list of films by Russo Brothers? Or even planning a vacation and arranging a fantasy sports formation? Everything can be done directly from living room TV.
Just open the Apps tab on the main screen, select the Perplexity AI app, and activate the microphone at the remote via the AI button. Users can directly ask, for example: What films are directed by James Cameron? The answer will appear in a rich and informative visual format.
As part of this global launch, Samsung and Perplexity provide a 12-month Perplexity Pro free subscription for all users. The offer can be enabled by scanning the QR code that appears on the Perplexity TV app.
With this step, Samsung strengthens its position as a pioneer in the AI-driven entertainment realm. After the cellphone and wearable device, now it's the turn of television to turn into a smart assistant in the living room to be able to answer questions, provide recommendations, and accompany the viewing session without limits.
