JAKARTA - Huawei has renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cybersecurity cooperation with the National Agency for Information and Communication Technology (BSSN), in support of knowledge development in the field of cybersecurity.
Head of BSSN, Nugroho Sulistyo Budi said that the update of this Memorandum of Understanding is not merely extending the period of cooperation, but becoming a momentum to strengthen synergy in building national cyber security capacity.
"In line with the spirit of quad-helix in the Cyber and Digital Security Strategy, the private sector has an important role in protecting the national cyber space. Therefore, strong and sustainable cooperation between BSSN and Huawei is very important," said Nugroho.
He hopes that this collaboration between BSSN and Huawei can be a catalyst for the birth of various programs involving various stakeholders in the development of Indonesian cyber security.
Meanwhile, Huawei Indonesia's Cyber Security and Privacy Officer (CSPO), Syarbeni added, to effectively face cyber threats, a coordinated approach is needed involving all industry sectors and the wider community.
Therefore, according to him, by combining strengths, sharing best practices, and working closely together, BSSN and Huawei are committed to building stronger capabilities while providing better protection of cybersecurity and data privacy.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cyber Security Development between BSSN and Huawei was first signed on October 29, 2019, then renewed in 2021 and 2023.
To date, the partnership has produced more than 200 collaborative activities involving more than 39,000 participants, including various special skills development programs in the fields of AI-based defense and industrial cybersecurity, as a tangible contribution to strengthening the cybersecurity ecosystem in Indonesia.
This synergy also confirms the commitment of both parties in mitigating security challenges in the era of AI and quantum computing, as well as building a resilient digital ecosystem through cross-country knowledge exchange and sustainable talent development.
