JAKARTA - Xiaomi has just released the Xiaomi 17 flagship series in China. It doesn't stop there, later this month they will also introduce Redmi K90 and K90 Pro as sub-flagship models. However, behind the scenes, it seems that Redmi has prepared another surprise: Redmi Turbo 5.

The device, which is suspected to be the Turbo 5, has just received radio certification in China, indicating that its launch is imminent.

Based on the latest certification list, a Xiaomi/Redmi device with model number 2511FRT34C has been approved by the Chinese telecommunications authorities. Although this certification document does not disclose the details of the main specifications, its presence indicates that the device is ready to enter the final stage towards official release.

Based on previous leaks, the device with the code is believed to be Redmi Turbo 5, the successor to Redmi Turbo 4, which was popular thanks to its fierce performance in the upper middle class.

According to previous reports, the Redmi Turbo 5 is said to be using a 6.67-inch flat LTPS OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. The same source states that this phone will be powered by a Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset, which offers a premium middle class smartphone-equivalent performance.

For power matters, Redmi is said to be equipping this device with a jumbo battery above 7,000 mAh, making it one of the best battery-resistant phones in its segment. The operating system is estimated to run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 directly from the factory.

Will Release Global As Poco X8 Pro

Interestingly, rumors also mention that Redmi Turbo 5 will debut globally under different names, namely Poco X8 Pro. India is said to be one of the main markets for the launch. In fact, the Poco X8 Pro already pocketed certification from the European EU platform, which hints that global launches could be carried out simultaneously.

Both ' Turbo 5 and X8 Pro' devices are expected to officially launch by the end of 2025.

More Powerful Variant: Redmi Turbo 5 Pro

In addition, Redmi is reportedly developing a higher version, namely the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro. This variant is expected to come in the second quarter of 2025. Based on rumors, this version of the Pro will be equipped with a 6.83-inch OLED LTPS 1.5K resolution screen, 8,000 mAh giant battery, and 100W fast charging support.

Not only that, the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro is also believed to be launched globally under the name Poco F8, continuing the rebranding tradition between Redmi and Poco lines.

If all of these news are true, then the end of 2025 will be a big stage for Xiaomi to strengthen its dominance in the mid-high smartphone segment through a combination of large power, high performance, and competitive prices.
